DIFENACOUM Difenacoum is an anticoagulant which works by reducing the ability of the rodent's blood to clot. After a couple of small feeds* on any Sorex difenacoum formulation, clotting is slowed down, leaks in the vessels are not repaired and after 4-10 days the rodent dies due to low blood pressure. Most rats and mice remain in their nests before death and usually few bodies are found on the surface.

Theoretically a rat or mouse could consume a lethal dose of Sorex 0.005% difenacoum baits within 24 hours.

0.005% difenacoum whole wheat A free flowing, odourless, loose grain bait based on top quality biostabilised whole wheat. (Biostabilisation prevents germination normally associated with untreated wheat.) It is a cost effective formulation particularly suited for use against established rat infestations. It can also be applied to control mice. Also available in pre-packed sealed plastic sachets thus providing further protection for the bait, from the elements, remaining fresh until opened by the rodents.

0.005% difenacoum canary seed A rodenticide bait purpose developed for the control of mice. Less than ½ a gram is required to deliver a lethal dose to the average mouse. Canary seed has been proven in independent trials to be much more palatable to mice than many other cereal bait bases. Difenacoum on canary seed represents the most effective combination, for mouse control, of cereal bait base and anticoagulant available today.

0.005% difenacoum gel The Sorex gel formulation is a new professional solution for the problem of mouse control. The gel is a modern alternative to grain baits and represents a breakthrough in formulation technology. Of particular benefit in areas where grain baits are not readily taken by mice, this semi-solid formula is also ideally suited for use in premises where food is stored or manufactured since the risk of food contamination by the bait is greatly reduced by the gel's non-spill characteristics. 0.005% difenacoum pellets The new formulation specifically designed by Sorex to be extremely palatable to rats. The palatablility of the rodent bait is a major factor in determining the degree and speed of control which can be achieved. The Sorex pellet formulation is ideal for use where there is an abundance of alternative food sources. Pellets also have the added advantage of providing the rodent with a hard edge against which to exercise its natural inclination to gnaw. RATAK® PELLETS: 0.005% w/w difenacoum pellets Ratak is a special composite pellet bait active against all species of rats and mice, including those resistant to warfarin and other first generation anticoagulants. Both rats and mice will easily consume a lethal dose of normally within 24 hours. Rodents will die 4 to 10 days later, usually under cover or in their nest.

KLERAT® BLOCKS : 0.005% w/w brodifacoum wax blocks Klerat is the original single feed anticoagulant rodenticide. Klerat Pellets are active against most rats and mice, including those resistant to first generation anticoagulants, such as warfarin. A lethal dose can be ingested as only part of a single day's food intake.. Rats and mice normally die several days later, so bait shyness does not occur as the rats do not associate the symptoms with the food they have eaten. As multiple feeding is not necessary, " Klerat" can be used most economically and safely when small quantities are applied with an interval between applications. Weather-proof blocks providing a lethal dose in a single feed to both rats and mice including those resistant to some other anticoagulants . Klerat blocks are highly versatile, they can be used in many situations where no bait dispersion is tolerated, for example, in the food industry, and in very humid conditions ( ie sewers). An individual block weighs 20 grammes and has a central hole to enable the block to be secured .
